AV-28 - Shanghai Fortress Concept Work -

In Winter 2015/2016 I got to work on the early, 'blue sky' stages of Shanghai Fortress. It was a very ambitious project, perhaps without the experience and finances to realize its full potential.

This was my first task on the project. I almost got fired

This was modeled with Production Designer Joseph Nemec over my shoulder. After feedback form the Director, the final f117 faceted look was requested.

[A] This was my initial design idea. elements of the f35 and rafale fighter jets. The idea was the main four wings could be locked for fast flight, but could spin like helicopter rotors for hovering flight. I thought it could allow for some fun animation.

[B]   The feedback on [A] was it wasn't futuristic or mean enough. So for this one, I imagined fully flexible nanotech wings with a myriad of jets instead of more expected single of twin jets.
